School counselling service

School counselling staff are members of the school learning and support team.

A teacher may recommend the service by referring a student to the school’s learning and support team. As a parent or carer, you may refer your child directly to the school counselling service. Students can also self-refer to the service.

The school counselling service can:

  • support students who are worrying about school work, friends, getting in trouble at school or feeling down
  • help parents and carers make decisions about your child’s education
  • assess a student’s learning and behaviour
  • help teachers and students identify and address disabilities that may affect learning
  • liaise with other agencies regarding student wellbeing.

School counselling is confidential.

Our school is fortunate to have two school counsellors in attandance at various times to support our students.

Mr David Martin (Senior Psychologist-Education), has been a counsellor in the school for many years and has a wonderful rapport with the students, offering outstanding support and advice for students across all year groups.

Ms Deborah Campbell-Allen has recently been appointed to the school to further enhance the service provided. She is working with our Welfare Team to become more acquainted with our students and, like Mr Martin, has extensive experience in supporting young people.

Both counsellors value the opportunity in working with the parents of our students as well.

To make an appointment with either of our counsellors, please phone the school on 9905 3982.
