Eight members of our staff and parent community were presented with Northern Beaches Secondary College Staff and Community Appreciation Awards by the Hon. Mike Baird MP, Member for Manly and Premier of NSW in a ceremony held in the NSBC Theatre.
Our community representatives honoured were Mr David and Mrs Linda Nord. David has been very active in the P&C and most renowned for his significant contributions to the P&C Environment Team in the beautification of our grounds and upgrades to outdoor facilities. Linda has been a long term volunteer in our canteen and establishing the vegetable garden which supplies some of the fresh foods for the canteen. Linda also plays a major role in supporting the Bushlink program, assisting young men and women with a disability who work at our school on bush regeneration projects.
Each of our staff representatives, Mrs Judy Boylan, Ms Marisa Carolan, Ms Neda Joyce, Mrs Lucienne Herft, Ms Naomi Leviton and Ms Chloe Woodward were recognised for their outstanding contributions to our school musicals along with the myriad of other roles they have in the school supporting students both in the curriculum and in curriculum enrichment activities. Mrs Boylan was also recognised, along with the School Administrative Managers from each of the other NBSC campuses, for her ongoing commitment to ensuring to smooth operation of administrative practices at the school.
