Linguafest

The annual MLTA Linguafest Film screening has become a progressively bigger event and in its tenth year the finalists saw their films on the massive screen at Events Cinemas at George Street. A very exciting event for all involved!!

Manly Selective Campus sent in 2 Japanese short films for the competition and we were excited to have both selected as finalists! "How to Oni" by Emma Blackwell and Kena Mallender (Year 10) and "My New Dream" by Zach Eggleton, Victoria Kristensen, Ashleigh Roberts and Ella Spencer (Year 9) were both selected in a field of 29 films across all schools in NSW. Manly Selective Campus was one of only two schools to have two films entered as finalists. A huge achievement in itself.

The two minute films had to be in the target language and were based on the theme of "A DREAM". Like the Tropfest festival, it also had to include a balloon somewhere in the film. There were films in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Macedonian from both government and non-government schools from all over NSW.

Congratulations to all the students whose films were chosen and a massive cheer to the year 9 film that took out the BEST ANIMATION category for the competition.
