Young Archie finalist

"I love the twinkle in my grandpa's eyes after he's told one of his long-winding yet hilarious jokes. I love how he looks after all of us, especially my grandma and I love the sleepovers my cousins and I have at his house, going to the beach and sleeping in the cosy front room. I love my grandpa, that's why I have chosen to draw him in this portrait."
 
Congratulations to Sophie Dimitrov (year 9) on being selected as a finalist in the Young Archie 2015, at the Art Gallery NSW, with her portrait of her grandfather.

There were 1284 entries in the competition and Sophie's work was selected as one of the five finalists in the 13-15 year olds category. The winner will be announced late in August.
