A group of former Northern Beaches Secondary College students were honoured to be presented with their Duke of Edinburgh scheme Gold Award by the Governor of NSW at a ceremony held at St Stephens Uniting Church, Macquarie Street, Sydney.
The Gold Award is the culmination of many hours of at least 12 months' work covering five aspects: service, physical recreation and skills, as well as an adventurous journey and residential project. No mean achievement for any young person!
General Hurley was pleased to have his photograph taken with the group from NBSC, along with College Principal, Mr Neil Worsley and Duke of Edinburgh program coordinator Ms Naomi Yorstan, as our College is the largest school provider of the Duke of Edinburgh program nationally.
