Japanese cultural experience

Year 9 and 10 elective Japanese students had a wonderful experience when classroom teacher Sensei Ichikawa organised for members of the local Japanese community and former students to come in and lead our students through a series of Japanese cultural and language activities.

Students experienced a tea ceremony, making green tea in the traditional manner, made sushi, participated in origami workshops, practised their Kanji on Japanese water paper using traditional brushes and played games popular with Japanese children.
