Year 9 camp was a blast! The instructors and teachers attending were very impressed and proud of how willing students were to embrace challenges and how well they behaved themselves the entire time.
The camp at Mangrove Mountain provided many activities including an extensive canoeing expedition, natural abseiling, a large flying fox, rock climbing, a giant swing, hiking, swimming and the much anticipated bubble soccer activity. Students particularly enjoyed rolling around and crashing into each other in their giant bubble spheres, the soccer was a secondary, but equally enjoyed, component.
Also, many stars shone on challenge night and a few hostages were rescued and freed during the commando night challenge. Students were not able to camp out, despite setting up tents in the rain, as the threat of lightening saw an end to the camping plan. Everyone stayed in cabins on both nights and most were quite pleased about this unexpected change of plans.
